Youth Day

Good Day Fullerites

I hope you are all good.

As Youth Day is tomorrow Residence Catering gave each dining hall the choice to choose a theme for their Youth Day. Our dining hall's theme is The Current Struggles of our Youth specifically the LGBTQ Community, as it is also pride month.

We would like to encourage you to wear pride colours (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet) or anything to express yourself tomorrow.

I hope you all enjoy Youth Day and prepare well for exams.

Regards

Sustainable Sundays

Hi Fullerites

This Sunday we will be launching a new initiative called Sustainable Sundays. Every Sunday on our Instagram page we will be posting helpful tips and information on important topics surrounding sustainability and climate change. So please be sure to tune into our Instagram every Sunday for that.

I also just want to encourage everyone to save electricity especially given the current state of South Africa's electrical grid. Make sure to turn off lights during the day and when you leave your room/ the bathroom, don't leave heaters running the whole day, unplug devices once they are fully charged and educate yourself on other ways to save electricity. I hope you have a productive and sustainable week going forward.

Green regards

GCI representative

Exam Preparation and Study Tips Session

Good day Fullerites,

I trust you’re all having a productive day thus far.

As we are fast approaching the exam season, it is crucial, especially for our firsties to be adequately equipped with how to best approach University exams. Therefore, we will be hosting an online session on the 17th of June 2021 (this Thursday) from 19:00, around how to best prepare for your exams and how to study more productively and efficiently for them.

In the words of William Blake – “You never know what is enough, unless you know what is more than enough”. I therefore encourage everyone, to attend the session that will be hosted by an experienced Professor in this field.

Best,

Tshiamo Lengwati
