Sign-ups for Golden Future Project

"Interested in gaining experience in tutoring, boosting your CV, and most of all, making a positive impact in the lives of young South Africans? Sign-ups for Golden Future Project are still open, and we'd love to have you on the team!

Golden Future Project is a UCT-based community outreach tutoring society, which provides academic support to learners in need from high schools in Khayelitsha and other parts of Cape Town. We help with understanding classwork, completing homework and projects, preparing for tests and exams, and applying to universities, colleges and Technikons. Under normal circumstances, our tutoring would take place on campus, but this year we will be tutoring via WhatsApp. Many of our learners are in classes with 60 or more scholars, and aren't given the support they need to truly excel. We aim to bridge that gap, and help to make their futures golden!

Commerce-stream subjects such as Economics and Business Studies as some of our most requested subjects, and so tutors in these subjects play a crucial role in the Golden Future Project. Tutoring is very flexible - no prior tutoring experience is needed, you'll be able to specify the subjects you are able to tutor and how many learners you are willing to take on, and need only be available in times which are convenient for you. It's a chance to gain experience in tutoring, earn letters of reference and community service hours which could appear on your transcript, but most importantly, it's a chance to engage with and hard-working, enthusiastic learners, and help to positively influence their lives.

Signing up is very easy, and can be done by signing into PeopleSoft, clicking on the student centre, selecting "join clubs and societies", typing "GLF" in the search bar, and clicking join!

If you have any questions at all, or if you have any trouble signing up, you can contact us at uctgoldenfuture@gmail.com, or send us a whatsapp at 072 9162765. You can also find us on instagram - @gfp_uct. We hope to see you with us!"

Warmest Regards
